Expedition was formed in 1981 by Ralph Koziarski. The name was chosen to express the versatility of the band. Being basically jazzy while including a fusion of different types of jazz including, rock, blues, funk, latin, reggae, standards, progressive and R & B. Expedition played throughout the 80’s and 90’s regularly at many downtown Detroit locations, like the Trappers Alley Terraces, The Old Detroit Bar, Galligans rooftop and the Elwood when it was on Woodward. Expedition has been playing for 11 years at the Village Club Country Club.
