Recording at Castle Hooligan and performing for over 5 years\, the band features musicians gathered to perform original and foundational tunes from Jamaica. The group has won a Detroit Music Award for Outstanding World Recoding and has been shortlisted for a Grammy Award for their latest release entitled “Detroit Riddim Crew meets Crazy Baldhead: Instru-Mental.” Previous releases found the group on singles for various artists around the world\, including a 45 rpm recorded in Jamaica. Their 5irst full length “Detroit Riddim Crew and Friends” was partially recorded in Kingston\, JA at Anchor Studios and featured Flabba Holt on bass\, Steve Golding on Guitar\, and Kirk Bennet on Drums.\n\nBorn from a mutual love of traditional reggae and ska\, The Loyal officially came together in its current form in February of 2025.
